Butte-Silver Bow County folds to Nazis' 'campaign of complaints' to silence Indigenous trans woman
'It is too much of a legal risk to have a transgender person in the library.'

I woke up on the first day of June Pride Month, looking forward to doing a "First Fridays" presentation about the history of Indigenous trans/Two Spirit people have existed in the Americas since time immemorial at the Butte-Silver Bow Public Library at noon the next day.
At 11:14 a.m, however, I received an email from an apologetic library employee who informed me Chief Executive JP Gallagher and County Attorney Eileen Joyce "have decided that it is too much of a legal risk to have a transgendered person in the library. I really regret this.”
😢
16 minutes after this message was sent and at 11:30 am, JP Gallagher had the audacity to do a performative proclamation in alleged support of Pride Month.
“Performative activism is activism done to increase one's social capital rather than because of one's devotion to a cause.” Gallagher: Huh, wonder who that was written for.🤔
Soon after, I was inundated with media queries interviews seeing as I was the first one in Montana "canceled" under Montana's drag queen ban—as a trans woman. 😒
Every LGBTQ activists: “We told you so.”
Thing is, I'd actually been one of the first people who'd testified in person against Representative Braxton Mitchell's drag ban.
I did so by explicitly doing a little dance (it was the beginning of the dance by that robot girl in the, M3GAN) and saying this bill's broad definition targets trans people, what I had just done would be illegal under it.
Then I explained First Amendment law to them—which seemed to be beyond their comprehension, apparently.
Shoulda done the Wednesday Addams dance, maybe?
Mitchell—who actually believes there are cat litterboxes in clasrooms for students "indentifying as cats"—had denied the bill would be used to target transgender people.
Ok, I am all for free speech, but there should def be a charge for Aggravated Felony Stupidity for this unironic post. And this person banned my free speech?
Others not only in Montana, but across the nation fighting repeatedly warned such broad language bills banning drag would not only chill free speech and art, but would be selectively used to target LGBTQ people.
Centrists and so-called moderate republicans dismissed concerns as reactionary at the time, and now here I was banned from speaking at a library at the behest of such reasoning.
Pictured: My response to my event being canceled.
The weeks leading up to the event had already been contentious, as I myself had decided to forgo sponsorship and a speaking engagement fee from Humanties Montana for their spineless response to a white nationalist spreading LGBTQ-phobic and racist nonsense.
Sensing a pattern here in Montana politics…
While I set up a Go Fund Me to offset costs of traveling 450 miles, in the meanwhile the library had been receiving harassing calls to where they deemed it necessary they have law enforcement at my history lecture.
Pictured: tough guys picking on librarians.
One of the people harassing the library and making fallacious complaints via Facebook was apparently made by Corey Allen—which AntiFascists know tobe the 'alternate' account of known Nazi, Sebastian Cambell aka “Cleetus Montana”—by way of Kentucky.
He's a real class act. How'd that “Dry January” work out for ya, Cleetus?
Cambell now lives in the old St James Hospital in Butte and has been at part of the Nazis harassing LGBTQ events as well as holding "white lives matter" rallies in various towns across Montana.
Pictured: the proper response to Nazis.
“Cory Allen” being Campbell was confirmed by his bragging on their Nazi page about their "campaign of complaints" to make Butte cower to white supremacy and current Montana GOP policy.
Was being praised by Nazis on your 2023 BINGO scorecard, Butte-Silver Bow County? Cringe.
A "Covenant" account who responded, "🤣🤣we win" to a Tweet of mine is Billings-based Nazi Andrew “Sal” Salacinksi. He always uses variations of the handle "Covenant Soldier."
While his coward White Lives Matter friends cover their faces, Salacinksi is like ‘Eff that! We are Nazis. Why pretend to even hide it?’
Someone else who'd made misconceptions about the event while doing the bidding of Nazis on the official Butte-Silver Bow County website I was told was Lyndsay Alt, a woman with an LGBTQ-phobic history who billed a historical lecture as, “An entertainment performance by a Drag Queen.”
Whuuu? That was news to me.
While I do do all sorts of dance performance and art which includes drag, to call me quoting books with Spanish Priest writings of the 16th Century amongst other historic topics an "entertainment performance" seems a bit of a hyperbole, you think? I am fascinating, but still…
But you see what they're doing they're, right? Lying by omission and misconstruing facts.
After the County Attorney and Gallagher goosestepped to the command of Nazis and it was canceled, they then justified it was because the event was a drag queen who "reads children's books and engages in other learning activities with minor children present."
Here's the thing: So what if I, as a transwoman, did read a kid's book at an event meant for adults. Or hell, kids. Am I only allowed to what read, Anne Rice if a child is in the room? Maybe Chuck Palahniuk?
While it's a possibility a a young child might sneak off campus and run on over to catch a few minutes of historical lecture during their lunch hour, children in Butte are still in school until June 8th.
Could there have been a baby or toddler there? Maybe.
“YOU are not a beautiful and unique snowflake just because you ban books and LGBTQ people.”
But again, this wasn't the intended audience as the Butte-Silver Bow County anti-trans propoganda made it out to be as JP Gallagher and Eileen Joyce responded by carrying water for coward, "anonymous," Nazis.
An estimated 10,000 to 15,000 LGBTQ folks were sent to concentration camps were they “were among the most abused groups in the camps,” according to the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum.
And these ruinous-to-society-Nazi-pieces-of-shit are the people Butte-Silver Bow County is taking their marching orders and cues from to kick off Pride Month.
Butte Silver-Bow County wouldn't ban this violent Nazis free speech, but bans mine. Curious.😒
Now, what we have here is like a version of 21st Century "masquerade laws" used to target trans people with back in the 1950s and 60s with to arrest them for wearing articles of clothing of the opposite "biological" gender.
Then Stonewall happened, and they stopped doing that.
❤️ you, stay safe, and most importantly, have fun out there this Pride Month, fam. 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️
